game rating

the rating for my game will be 18 certificate as are are most games of this type such as the GTA series. my game will have blood/gore, violence, explicit language among others.

thinking of main image

ive been thinking of images for the front cover of the game. During my extensive research which includes my questionnaire results i have come up with a conclusion that more people are interested in action/adventure game. therefore i am going to base my game on this genre so it attracts my target audience.

Name of game

I want to go with the conventions of a video game which will be based on the genre of other urban games. Have been thinking of possible names and have come up with "Gangsters Boulevard". Found out the meaning of boulevard which according to a reliable source "is usually a wide, multi-lane arterial thoroughfare, divided with a median down the center, and "roads" along each side designed as slow travel and parking lanes and for bicycle and pedestrian usage, often with an above-average quality of landscaping and scenery."

Going to change my idea to an urban game almost like the GTA series. Super Mario would have been difficult to work on so will change my idea to something different.

Poster Sizes

This is a six sheet poster size which would be used for a bus stop. i can use this for my poster on Super Mario Galaxy or

the 4 sheet poster size which would be used in a magazine.

Decide today to scrap the Nintendo Wii package idea and focus on just Super Mario Galaxy. Need to change the target audience and the age range as it is played mainly by children.

Decided today to scrap the Nintendo Wii package but focus entirely on the game, Super Mario Galaxy. Will edit my brief, need to change the target audience as Super Mario is played mostly by children so need to change the age range.

The Nintendo Wii gives off a cool effect as no dark colurs are used. It is a bright console and the accessories are very unique and different from other consoles.

Super Mario Galaxy is a game where the cover will also be full of bright colours. Although it looks like a game for children, all ages will play it because of its history.

Results For Questionnaire

I gave 10 students in my class, 5 girls and 5 boys, a questionnaire based on my coursework. These are the results I received:

1. Do you play computer games? Yes = 7 No = 3
2. If yes how often do you play? Those who answered yes played between 3 hours a day to 10-14 hours a week.
3. What genre of computer games would appeal to you? i.e Action, Adventure, Sports. Adventure = 2 Action/Adventure = 3 Sports = 2
4. Which console(s), if any, do you own? PS2 = 6 Xbox/360 = 2 Nintendo/DS/Wii = 4
5. How much would you spend on a console? £100 or below = 3 £100 - £200 = 2 Over £200 = 3
6. How much would you spend on games a month? £10 - £20 = 3 £20 - £40 = 3 £50 or above = 4
7. What colour would you associate with adventure games? Blue = 4 Red = 2 Other = 4
8. Do you like Super Mario games and if so would you buy the latest edition of Super Mario? Majority of students answered yes to both questions.

Going to do a package for the Nintendo Wii. Making a questionnaire 4 people to fill in. The package will come with accessories and Super Mario Galaxy, a game for all ages.
